Bridal Market 2010 Report

I decided to share with you the results from Bridal Market 2010. It's a little late, but hey, you know the saying, better late than never! Bridal Market is like Fashion Week, but it's specific for wedding gowns. Just like Fashion Week, it was held in New York City and the creme-de-la-creme of wedding gown designers were there to show their latest collections. Southern Magazines did a full report (like 8 different blog posts) about Bridal Market 2010. And so, based on their report, we would like to share with you the designer gowns that we personally hand picked.

Amsale - ah, my mostest favoritest awesomeest wedding gown designer. I LOVE AMSALE. Cannot get enough of their dresses. It just suits my personal style, clean lines, simple silhouettes, but with intricate details. I think I would have to wear an Amsale dress on my wedding day (please God let that happen soon!!!!)

Monique Lhuillier - Dresses from Monique Lhuillier seem like they come straight out of a romantic storybook. Lacy, frilly, girly and oh-so-dreamy dresses.

Badgley Mishcka - Some of their collection that I thought are simply stunning. I especially love the short dress! It has pockets!! I fully agree with the idea of having pockets on wedding gowns. Stroke of genius!

And last but not least, Priscilla of Boston - Your classics, served with a modern twist.

Hope you all are inspired!

Simple Wedding Dresses - with intricate details

Aahhh...the epitome of a wedding - the wedding gown. Here in Indonesia, wedding gowns are usually extravagant. Too extravagant in fact that sometimes, some wedding dresses, literally hurt my eyes. What with the lace, and 3 foot long-3 tiered veils, gloves on your arms (by the way, wedding ring put over the gloves? not a good look ladies), swarovski crystals, flower petals,.....and yes, I've seen all of those elements done in one dress.
I understand that brides have to be the center of attention, if not, why have a wedding at all, right? But you don't have to wear such an over-the-top-verging-on-grotesque wedding dress to grab attention.

Whattttt....simple wedding dresses can't have great details - you say???? Well, ladies, take a look at the wedding dresses below. All of the gowns below are very simple dresses, but with such great, intricate details. I am sure that these dresses will make you the center of attention, and in a good way ;)

Lela Rose - The Garden

Jim Hjelm - Style 8052

Priscilla of Boston - Style 4507

Amsale - Coco

These wedding dresses maybe very simple, but if paired up with the right body type and worn with confidence, will make everybody's heads turn in awe! So maybe, don't listen to your mom/mother in law/much older cousin of yours and go with a simpler wedding dress that accentuates your body. After all, it is YOUR wedding...

J Crew Casual Wedding Dresses

We reckon that most of Indonesian brides wear extravagant wedding dresses when the couple is going for international reception. While most of them are nice and elegant (the likes of Eddy Betty, Adrian Gan, Biyan, Sebastian Gunawan and Didi Budiardjo), we are longing for something new, fresh, simple and quite unique for the brides.

By now, you readers are pretty well aware of our fascination of J.Crew. This line brings ordinary fashion to life and with its affordable chic, its suitable for our pocket! They just redo their bridal line with the new exclusive wedding boutique in Manhattan. While some of the bridal gowns are too simple for Indonesians, we think it would be super nice for a prewed session photography! So forget the lace, forget the beadings, forget the swarovski crystal for once in a while. Play around with these wonderful and elegant but yet simple wedding ideas from J.Crew :)
