The Ultimate Bachelor Pad

Looking through desire to inspire almost always gives me the goose bumps. You know that crush that you longed over in high school, and every time you look at him/her you have butterflies in your stomach? Or as the infamous ladies of Sex & the City put it, the "zsa zsa zsu" feeling? Yeah, I have that feeling when I am leafing through desire to inspire's blog.
This post is for all our male readers out there, yea, all 3 of you. This house is amaze-balls! A jacuzzi in the living room? To.die.for. Gentlemen, lemme tell ya - this is the ULTIMATE bachelor pad. What lady wouldn't be swept off their feet when they see your house? Hope this post can be an inspiration for you.

Why don't you - live a'la The Spades?

Drool yourself over The Spades apartment in New York City. Similar to Kate Spade's line of fashion, the family opt to use vibrant color but yet still kept it classy. Notice the classic sturdy furniture combined with mix and match pattern. Unlike other Upper East Siders in NYC, The Spades are not shy to commit their love of colors. In the beginning, Kate wanted to retain the original prewar structure but still want to make it modernized. I'm pretty confident to say that they have successfully done exactly that!

Engaged - Candice & Amos

You might remember our last post about Candice & Amos of their video save-the-date. Candice & Amos live in San Francisco, CA and they have the privilege to choose from about one million world renowned wedding photographers that reside in the great state of California. As wise as King Solomon, they chose Stephanie Williams. I found out about Stephanie Williams Photography through Junebug Weddings as she was named one of the best wedding photographers of 2009 and have been following her blog ever since. In my opinion, she has the ability to capture the emotion between the couple in one single beautiful frame.

Candice and Amos' engagement pictures proves it! I could just look at their pictures all day long because it truly is mesmerizing! Stephanie Williams did such a good job! Here are some pictures for you to drool over, coz I sure did.

 my favorite shot!

Valentine's Day in Paris!

Ah Paris..........the city of Amour......I've only been there once and it's true what they say about Paris that it's the most romantic city in the world. At night time, I found Paris to be very different than during day time. When the sun goes down and lights are all lit up, Paris transforms into one sexy, romantic city. Everywhere you go, you'll see lovely couples strolling around the Seine, or soaking in the beautiful Eiffel Tower all lit up and enjoying the various street performers. Check out pictures from my trip below.
{Romantic old couple kissing}

{The Notre Dame - my favorite part of Paris!!}
{The view from Notre Dame - can you see the Eiffel Tower?}

I'm dying to go back there again.

So, this morning, when I received an email from the budget airline Air Asia promoting their debut direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Paris (Orly) at only IDR 1,374,000 or about USD 150, I was beyond ecstatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about budget airline! This is a promotional price and is only valid if you book between 22-24 Nov 2010 for traveling between 14 Feb - 10 Nov 2011. Yes, their first flight is going to be on Valentine's Day 2011. Imagine, Valentine's Day in Paris with your significant other. Ahh love.....

Do check out their website for more info on this promotion.

Now, I have flown from Orly Airport before and it is actually quite far from Paris, about 45 minute drive and cost about 80 euros. Even so, it is still way cheaper than what other airlines are offering. Just be sure to calculate that extra transportation cost into your travel budget.

Valentine's Day in Paris! Aren't you dying of excitement!!!!!! :)

Thanksgiving Lunch Sneak Peek

We successfully held a small Thanksgiving lunch for a small number of people this afternoon for our client. Overall, I think the event went quite smoothly and at the end of the day, everybody was stuffed with turkey, stuffing, pumpkin soup, mashed potatoes, and honeycomb krispies peach ice cream (best. dessert. EVER). We will have a full post shortly about it but here is a little sneak peek for you to enjoy right now.

Real Wedding - A Sophisticated Australian Wedding

Typically I am not a fan of classy, elegant wedding. I am the type of person that loves the rustic, casual look of a wedding. But I came across this post from Style Me Pretty about a classic Australian wedding and I was just in awe of the sophistication that it radiates. The bride's silk gown (by the way, how skinny must you be to pull of a silk wedding gown! wow!), the groom's classic tuxedo, the table settings, everything is a treat for the eyes.
And Marcus Bell the photographer also did a great job in capturing the ambience of the whole day. Check out the pictures taken from Style Me Pretty below. If you're dying to see more pictures of this wedding, click here.

Why don't you - be thankful?

So as we are approaching end of year, we're starting to get pretty busy with festive seasons! One celebration that we are planning is a private Thanksgiving luncheon of 15 people (including kids). The venue is set to be in a private residential house on Sunday, 21 November 2010. We can't really reveal what we are preparing, but here's a hint for our special readers!

So in the mood of Thanksgiving, we can't help to think of what we are thankful for. Personally, I am thankful for...practically everything! I am thankful for my wellbeing; shelter, parents, family, bestfriends, work, significant others, talents, air to breathe in, nephews and nieces to brings happiness and laughter into my life and also some other shallow things such as Phillip Lim to make such a pleasant clothes, Anomali to make such amazing local coffee, internet and macbook to make life easier, Tod's for their wonderful flats, Olivia Palermo to keep my hopes and imagination alive, Cirque du Soleil for their magical creations, Queen Martha Stewart for never ending inspirations and...many many many more. But one important note, One Queens Lane is thankful for all of you our loyal readers and clients who appreciate our business..so thank you very much!

What are you thankful for?

Wedding Shot Wednesdays

This week's post of Wedding Shot Wednesday is actually somewhat related to yesterday's post about wedding send offs. We mentioned sparklers and ribbon wands but if you really wanna go all out, and I mean REALLY all out, why don't you have a hot air balloon as your getaway vehicle?
Below are some pictures from Jose Villa that could give you an idea of how that would work. Jose Villa did such an awesome job with the photography, don't you think?

Send Offs!

Ok, so maybe we lied about the whole "full force posting" we promised last Wednesday... But we're back today, and tomorrow too for Wedding Shots Wednesdays!

Anyhoo, I wanna talk about the bride and groom send offs. Here in Indonesia, nobody typically does a send off for the bride and groom. Usually, towards the end of the wedding reception, where the 1000++ people has eaten, the bride and groom poses with different groups of people they know from work, schools, etc. And after the guests have taken their picture with the bride and groom, the leave for the night. Y-A-W-N
There is really no climax to the cap off the night. So, we challenge you, oh-bride-to-bes, to have your beloved guests send you off, closing off your remarkable wedding night on a high! Here are some ideas that would be of use.

Ribbon Wands! SO so so so so cute. And super easy to make and did I mention cute!???? Totally makes the send off elegant, in my opinion.

Sparklers! Hoorah for sparklers! So far this is the most fun that you can send a bride and groom off. And look how pretty pictures they makeeee! Love it!

Purple Delight

This inspiration board is made for our dear friend's wedding in Bali next year. The next is a collage of our friend's favorites and style.

Taking into account an outdoor party in Bali, what could be more suitable than an array of fairy lights resembling "fireflies". Hanged tea light lanterns on the wooden arches will also make a great entrance.  Considering the laid back style that the couple possess, we choose everything simple - the cake, the invitations, the bouquet, the centerpieces. The lacy deep V necked dress and the hairstyle will complete the airy, relaxed mood we want to send out.  Your wish is our command. In One Queen's Lane, we work around YOUR style.

Wedding Shots Wednesday

Readers! Apologies for the lack of posts during the past week as we had a 1QL mini weekend getaway! Yes, that's right, we went to the island of gods to rest our bodies and clear our minds. And we are back in full force starting today. Hopefully, our day jobs won't interfere with our plan to post beautiful things.
And thus, it is once again a Wednesday and we shall (or at least hope to) blow you away with these wedding shots below inspired by a bride's veil.

 Let's all hope and pray that we get a wedding photographer that can capture us in our veils like Erin Reed and Punam Bean can.

Why don't you - stroll the street in fashion?

Something about this picture intrigued me to be healthy, lean and fit so I can stroll the street with confidence and style! Isn't it nice if you can snug perfectly to those pretty dresses without worrying extra buldge or muffin tops or extra something called...fat? That's it! I vowed to be healthy and slim!

Now where's that caramel popco...whoops..i mean carrots. My bad.
